I'm working on material regarding the relationship between Henry Irving and his more-or-less life-long Lyceum business manager Bram Stoker. I'm trying to get a real picture of the Lyceum and it's workings in order to determine, among other things, how much of Stoker's reminiscences are, to use the Victorian word, "puffery" and how much are real. In the meanwhile, I've become fascinated by HI and his complexities and have spent a lot of time with HI and Ellen Terry as well.
