I have acquired the above-named book published in 1876 by James Robinson Planche. It is in good condition apart from some minor damage to the spine. The colour plates and hundreds of black and white illustrations are wonderful. This book was sold by Christies in 1905 from Henry Irving's estate. It contains a bookplate bearing his name and a black eagle motif pasted inside the front cover. This is Volume 1 of a two volume set. Does anyone out there know of Volume 2 with a similar bookplate ? I am looking to sell this book to someone who would be delighted to own a piece of Henry Irving memorabilia. My email address is [email protected]
